INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE JOHN MURPHY PRAISES COURAGE OF RON PAUL
REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS CONTINUE THREATENING TO EXPAND WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND RESTRICT OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES AT HOME CHESTER COUNTY, PA – Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul said Thursday night he was ending his campaign but will keep spreading his message. "Ron Paul" said independent congressional candidate John Murphy "is a man of courage and integrity who dared stand up against his party and its leaders and insist that the illegal and immoral occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq be brought to an immediate end. Dr. Paul clearly understands the dangers of corporatism and is opposed both to Republicans like McCain and Democrats like Obama who refuse to repeal the USA Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act which have gutted the Bill of Rights, ended habeas corpus and made the United States along with Israel one of the two nations which have legalized torture". Like Ron Paul, John Murphy is opposed to corporate welfare, corporate personhood and the quartering of US troops in 700 military bases throughout 127 countries at taxpayer expense and demands the immediate end of the occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan by the U.S. and Palestine by Israel. Murphy said upon the official withdrawal of Representative Paul "we must dramatically slash the Pentagon budget and begin paying down our nearly $10 trillion national debt so that we can avoid mortgaging the future of not only our children but our great, great grandchildren. "The American people are fed up with neoconservatives like George Bush and Joe Pitts who have trashed the legacies of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower" continued John Murphy. Obama and the Democrat Congress along with John McCain have no clear exit strategy for Iraq. To make matters worse Obama wishes to station troops in Kuwait which would threaten to widen the war in the Middle East. "The Democrats and Republicans continue to threaten to bring down a holocaust upon Iran and Syria and refuse even to speak with nations who have done us no harm but simply object to the ghastly treatment of the Palestinians by the Israelis. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats have any intention to return our civil liberties nor to repeal the Patriot Act nor to curb the abuses of corporatism" added Murphy. "Obama and McCain have pledged to the right-wing Israeli lobby that they will always keep the military option. Obama wants to expand the U.S. military, already the biggest in the world, by 92,000 additional soldiers. "Ron Paul has shown that Americans on the right and left can come together to solve common problems like war and the erosion of our civil liberties" concluded John Murphy. "He is a man who has put the public interest above party unity. Antiwar Democrats like Dennis Kucinich might consider taking a page from his book."
Thank you, John Murphy
